The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested a talent manager accused of recruiting and offering female talents to clients, including politicians, for paid sexual services.
The NBI said the suspect allegedly charged about Php 100,000 for each woman booked by a customer. Clients could also reportedly arrange dates without sexual services for Php 25,000 per hour.
Agents from the bureau’s National Capital Region office conducted surveillance on Monday after receiving information about the alleged operation.
An undercover agent later posed as a customer and negotiated with the suspect as part of an entrapment operation.
Investigators said the suspect agreed to provide five women for Php 110,000 each and arranged a meeting at a five-star hotel in Malate, Manila, on Tuesday.
NBI agents arrested the suspect after he allegedly received the marked money. The five women were rescued during the operation.
Authorities filed a qualified human trafficking complaint against the suspect, who remained in NBI custody.
The bureau continued its investigation to determine whether other people were involved and how extensive the alleged trafficking operation was.
