Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. has slashed its InstaPay transfer fee to a record-low PHP8 per transaction starting February 1, 2026, a move aimed at making digital payments more affordable and practical for daily use.

The new rate marks a steep reduction from the previous PHP25 fee and places Metrobank among the most competitively priced InstaPay providers in the market. Transfers between Metrobank accounts remain free of charge.

By lowering the cost of instant fund transfers, the bank is reinforcing its push toward seamless, everyday banking through digital channels—supporting routine needs such as household expenses, bill payments, allowances, and small business transactions.

“By lowering our InstaPay fee to PHP8, we are making digital payments more convenient for our customers,” said Ramon Del Rosario, Metrobank’s Consumer Business Sector Head. “It’s about supporting Filipinos in their day-to-day financial needs.”

He added that the move is part of a broader effort to give clients greater flexibility and control over how they manage their money. “Every transaction should be simple, secure, and now, more affordable.”

Metrobank’s fee reduction complements its expanding digital ecosystem, including the launch of eSavings last year. Designed for first-time deposit clients, the digital account allows users to save, manage, and grow their money securely with a minimum maintaining balance of just PHP2,000, while gaining access to tools that support long-term financial goals.

Clients can enjoy the lower InstaPay fees and free Metrobank-to-Metrobank transfers by opening an eSavings account through the Metrobank App, available anytime and anywhere, or by visiting any Metrobank branch nationwide.

The Metrobank App can be downloaded from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, and Huawei App Gallery, bringing faster, more affordable digital banking closer to everyday Filipino life.
