Manila Electric Company (Meralco) has assured customers across its franchise area of stable and reliable electricity service throughout the Holy Week, with response teams placed on round-the-clock standby to address any power-related concerns.

The Manuel V. Pangilinan-led distribution utility said it is maintaining full operational readiness as Filipinos observe one of the year’s most solemn occasions, when many households travel out of town and leave homes unattended for several days.

Meralco Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications Joe Zaldarriaga said the company is prepared to respond at any time to ensure uninterrupted service during the religious observance.

“We join the nation in observing a solemn and safe Holy Week. As a 24/7 service provider, we assure our customers that our crews are fully prepared to respond to any power-related concerns that may arise,” Zaldarriaga said.

Alongside its service assurance, Meralco reminded customers to take extra precautions at home, especially those planning to leave for an extended break. The company advised the public to unplug appliances before leaving, avoid overloading outlets with extension cords or so-called octopus connections, keep wires neat and away from areas with heavy foot traffic, and make sure electrical devices are kept far from water.

Meralco said customers needing assistance may report electricity service concerns through its hotlines 0920-9716211 and 0917-5516211, or by calling 16211. Consumers may also reach the company through the My Meralco mobile app and its official Facebook and X accounts.

The company also announced that its business centers will be closed from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday, with regular operations set to resume on April 6.
