The Social Security System (SSS) is exploring measures to provide financial relief to its members and employers amid economic pressures, the agency said Sunday.

SSS President Robert Joseph de Claro said the programs under review include a possible loan moratorium for members and a condonation scheme for employers struggling to meet obligations.

He emphasized the agency’s commitment to support Filipinos facing financial challenges.

De Claro said internal reviews and consultations with stakeholders are ongoing to implement the relief initiatives quickly while ensuring the long-term stability of the SSS fund.

The SSS is also assessing options to extend contribution deadlines for employers and individual paying members.

Officials noted that digital initiatives are being pursued to simplify processes, reduce compliance burdens, and ensure timely access to relief measures.

Updates on the programs will be announced through SSS official channels once plans are finalized.

The announcement comes as rising oil prices and the escalating conflict in the Middle East continue to affect the local economy.
