Angara vows stronger support for teachers on National Teachers’ Day

MANILA – Education Secretary Sonny Angara paid tribute to Filipino educators on National Teachers’ Day, thanking them for their dedication while assuring them of continued government support beyond the annual celebration.

In his message, Angara recognized teachers, school heads and education personnel for their commitment to learners despite the challenges they face each day.

“Every day, our teachers keep learning, adapting, and finding ways to move forward,” Angara said, noting that educators continue to serve despite difficulties and personal sacrifices.

He said the government must ensure that teachers also feel valued and cared for, stressing that supporting educators is at the heart of the Department of Education’s efforts.

Angara cited President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to provide “real, tangible support” to teachers not only during Teachers’ Month but throughout the year.

He also emphasized that supporting teachers means investing in the future of classrooms, families, communities and the country.

“To all our teachers, maraming salamat sa inyong pagmamahal. Kayo naman ang aming aalagaan, susuportahan, at papalakpakan. Happy World Teachers’ Day!” Angara said.
