PHLPost to host ASEAN postal leaders for e-commerce, logistics talks

MANILA – The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) will host postal leaders from Southeast Asia and partner economies from Oct. 5 to 7 for meetings focused on expanding cross-border e-commerce and improving regional postal and logistics services.

The 32nd ASEAN Postal Business Meeting (APBM) and ASEANPOST++ Meeting will be held at the Manila Marriott Hotel in Pasay City, with representatives from ASEAN postal organizations and partner economies including Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Japan and South Korea.

Discussions will cover cross-border e-commerce, logistics, postal operations and new revenue opportunities, including possible joint services that would connect customs clearance with last-mile delivery across participating postal networks.

Delegates are also expected to explore ways to simplify cross-border returns for merchants and consumers, as well as maximize postal facilities and infrastructure for logistics and micro-fulfillment operations.

Technology, innovation and sustainability will also be among the key topics as postal operators adapt to the continued growth of cross-border online trade.

The program opens on Oct. 5, followed by the ASEANPOST++ Meeting through the morning of Oct. 6. The APBM will convene later that day and conclude with the signing of agreements and adoption of decisions reached by participating postal organizations.

The meetings will end on Oct. 7 with a tour for delegates.

PHLPost said the gathering will serve as a platform for ASEAN postal operators and their partners to coordinate regional projects and develop more integrated postal and logistics services supporting cross-border trade.
