MANILA – President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday paid tribute to Filipino educators on National Teachers’ Day, recognizing their sacrifices and vital role in shaping the country’s future.
In his message dated October 5, Marcos said every classroom carries the promise of the nation’s future, with teachers guiding young Filipinos to question, discover and pursue their aspirations.
“At the heart of this noble mission are our educators, whose task is to unleash our people’s potential and guide them towards greater possibilities in life,” Marcos said.
The President acknowledged the sacrifices that come with the teaching profession and reaffirmed the government’s responsibility to support educators.
He said the administration would ensure that teachers receive the resources and opportunities they need to become a source of hope and strength for children and the next generation.
Marcos also urged teachers to continue forming Filipinos who are discerning in thought, principled in action and mindful of the common good.
“Rest assured, this government stands with our educators and nurtures a Bagong Pilipinas where every teacher is given the power to become a source of hope and strength for our children and nation,” he said.
Marcos concluded his message by expressing hope that the lives touched by teachers would remain their “greatest legacy to the Filipino people.”
