Trevor Magallanes, former husband of Filipina comedienne and actress Rufa Mae Quinto, has passed away, sending a wave of sympathy and support toward the actress from colleagues and fans alike. While the cause of death has not been made public, the emotional outpouring on social media underscores the deep impact of his sudden passing.

Quinto, who has largely remained private about her former partner in recent months, quietly broke her silence by posting a series of family photos with Magallanes and their daughter, Athena, on Instagram. The images were captionless but spoke volumes, stirring an emotional response from her industry friends and followers.

Actress Maxene Magalona offered heartfelt support, writing, “Sending you so much love. I’m so sorry for your loss.” Journalist Christine Babao also comforted her with, “Yakap na mahigpit, Peachy,” while actress Alessandra de Rossi kept it brief but warm: “Love you.”

Other celebrities such as Daniel Matsunaga, Candy Pangilinan, Sunshine Cruz, and Jaya also took to the comments to extend their condolences and virtual embraces. “My deepest condolences to you, sis,” Cruz wrote. Jaya added, “Mare, I don’t know what to say… please read my DM.”

Magallanes, a financial analyst and former US Air Force serviceman, had previously opened up about their separation in late 2024. In an emotional Instagram story, he revealed that he and Quinto were in the process of finalizing their divorce. He acknowledged the pain it brought to their daughter and themselves, candidly describing their marriage as “a shit show.”

“All that matters to me at this time is getting through the divorce as best as I can and spending time with Athena,” he wrote. Despite the turmoil, he emphasized the importance of being present for their daughter.

Quinto and Magallanes first met in 2016 during one of her visits to the United States. They got married in a quiet ceremony in Quezon City later that year and welcomed Athena in early 2017. After their separation, Quinto returned to the Philippines and resumed her entertainment career.

As of writing, no official family statement has been issued regarding funeral arrangements or the cause of Magallanes’ death.

His passing comes not only as a personal loss to Quinto and their child but as a reminder of the complex, often private struggles that exist behind public figures. In a time of grief, the entertainment industry stands united in supporting one of its own through an undeniably painful chapter.
