TikTok Shop helped fuel more than a 200 percent surge in sales for local sellers in 2025, as Filipino micro, small, and medium enterprises and creators increasingly turned to live commerce, digital tools, and structured learning programs to expand their reach and grow sustainably.

By combining creator partnerships, education initiatives, and collaborations with government and industry stakeholders, the platform continued to open new pathways for inclusive participation in the country’s fast-evolving digital economy.

“TikTok Shop is more than a marketplace; it is a partner for Filipino entrepreneurs,” said Yves Gonzalez, head of public policy for the Philippines at TikTok Shop.

He noted that by working closely with public and private sector partners and investing in education, technology, and creative opportunities, the platform enables local businesses to grow responsibly, reach wider audiences, and strengthen the communities they serve, generating long-term socio-economic impact.

The rise of creators as commercial and community catalysts has been a defining feature of TikTok Shop’s growth. Beauty creator Lauren Young, known on the platform as @lo_young, exemplified this shift as she transitioned from television to live selling, sharpening her storytelling and engagement skills through early collaborations with beauty and personal care brands.

These experiences laid the groundwork for partnerships with local sellers, including homegrown gold jewelry brand Marigold PH.

Dood has expanded from a small student-led startup to a fast-growing brand on TikTok Shop, supported by creator collaborations and live commerce programs.

In 2025 alone, Young hosted more than 100 live sessions totaling over 360 hours, earning recognition as TikTok Shop Philippines’ Creator of the Year and demonstrating how consistency, talent, and platform support can translate into both commercial success and deeper community connections.

A similar trajectory was seen in the electronics category, where Papanan (@_papanan), a freelance photographer and videographer from Cagayan de Oro, expanded from short-form content into live commerce.

By featuring a wide range of consumer technology products, his livestreams delivered strong performance across major campaigns. This year, he recorded the highest single-day gross merchandise value achieved by a creator on the platform, underscoring how creativity and persistence can produce measurable results.

Local brands also saw their reach and operations scale rapidly. Dood, a modern innerwear label founded in 2021 by college students Maria Necilyn Manguino and John Theodore Taleon, grew from a small workspace into a full warehouse and studio dedicated to live selling.

Through creator-led campaigns, seasonal bundles, and participation in major sales events, the brand posted strong gains in live commerce GMV, audience engagement, and overall shop performance. For Manguino, live selling has allowed the brand to connect directly with customers, respond to their needs in real time, and build a community anchored on sustainable growth and support for Filipinas.

Underpinning this growth is TikTok Shop’s ACE Indicator System, which focuses on assortment, content, and empowerment. The framework helps sellers refine product listings and pricing, produce effective short-form and livestream content, and optimize shop performance through campaigns, vouchers, and data-driven insights.

These tools enable sellers to make informed decisions and build businesses designed for longevity rather than one-off campaign spikes.

Beyond individual success stories, TikTok Shop’s nationwide capacity-building efforts reached scale in 2025. More than 25,000 entrepreneurs participated in programs such as the Unlad Lokal Roadshow Caravan, launched in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry.

Beginning in Metro Manila and expanding to local government rollouts, including Taguig City, the initiative equipped entrepreneurs with practical skills to navigate digital selling, content creation, and livestreaming.

These efforts were reinforced through collaborations with private and public sector partners including PLDT, Smart Communications, J&T Express, Go Negosyo, and the Department of Information and Communications Technology.

Webinars and educational videos complemented hands-on guidance on onboarding, platform policies, and marketing strategies on the @sellwithtiktokshop_ph account, which accumulated more than 17 million views.

Inclusivity remained a core focus of TikTok Shop’s approach. Training programs for sari-sari store owners in partnership with Hapinoy, as well as accessibility-focused initiatives such as Sumakses Sagabal-Free for persons with disabilities, provided underrepresented groups with practical guidance on digital selling and shop management. Collaborations with the Autism Society Philippines, local governments, and advocacy groups helped ensure that women, persons with disabilities, and other marginalized entrepreneurs could confidently enter and succeed in the digital marketplace.

The platform’s support for women-led enterprises was also highlighted at Go Negosyo’s Women Summit 2025, where TikTok Shop showcased how content-driven social commerce tools and education have enabled women entrepreneurs to scale sustainably.

Go Negosyo founder Joey Concepcion said digital commerce is reshaping how Filipino MSMEs grow, with women at the forefront of this transformation as they leverage platforms like TikTok Shop to build resilient brands and reach customers nationwide.

For TikTok Shop, impact is measured not only in GMV but in the strength of the ecosystem it helps create. By combining education, technology, and creator partnerships, the platform provides MSMEs with safer, more sustainable pathways to growth.

Gonzalez emphasized that empowering local entrepreneurs ultimately uplifts entire communities, reinforcing an economic model where growth is inclusive, responsible, and resilient.

As TikTok Shop deepens its role in the Philippine MSME landscape, its contribution increasingly extends beyond commerce, positioning the platform as a long-term partner in driving digital innovation, community development, and broader economic opportunity across the country.
