QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Pickleball enthusiasts now have a new place to play as the Quezon City Government opened two pickleball courts at Quezon Memorial Circle (QMC), offering free reservations to residents and visitors.

The newly opened facilities feature a 100-percent acrylic sports surfacing system, a type of playing surface commonly used in tennis and pickleball facilities in other countries.

According to the city government, the courts are open daily from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., allowing players of different skill levels to enjoy the increasingly popular racket sport.

Residents and visitors interested in using the facilities may reserve a court free of charge by emailing the Quezon Memorial Circle Office at QMC@quezoncity.gov.ph.

Players are required to bring their own paddles and balls, as equipment will not be provided.

The local government also reminded visitors to bring reusable water tumblers in compliance with the city’s restrictions on plastic use.

Pickleball combines elements of tennis, badminton and table tennis. The sport is played using paddles and a perforated plastic ball on a smaller court, making it accessible to beginners while remaining competitive for experienced players.

The opening of the two courts provides another recreational option for residents seeking affordable opportunities to stay physically active.

The facilities also add to the recreational amenities available at Quezon Memorial Circle, one of the city’s major public parks.

The city government encouraged residents to take advantage of the free facilities while observing court regulations and maintaining cleanliness in the area.
