Widespread rain affected large parts of the country on Sunday as multiple weather systems shaped conditions nationwide, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
Pagasa reported that the shear line produced scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms over Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, and Rizal.
The agency said the northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan, caused periods of light rain in Ilocos Region, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and other areas of Cagayan Valley.
Weather officials said the easterlies also influenced conditions across the rest of the country.
Western Visayas, Palawan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, and Basilan experienced intermittent rains and thunderstorms linked to the easterlies, Pagasa said.
Metro Manila and nearby provinces recorded isolated rain showers and thunderstorms, with generally fair weather in between.
Pagasa said no low-pressure area or tropical cyclone was being tracked within or near the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
The agency advised residents to remain cautious, noting that sudden downpours could still trigger localized flooding and landslides.
