PITX monitors nearly 2.5 million passengers during holiday season

The Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) reported a total of 975,577 passengers from December 26 to 30, facility officials said on Wednesday.

The busiest day was December 26, right after Christmas, with 214,014 passengers, while December 30 saw the lowest count at 182,443.

Other daily tallies included 196,792 passengers on December 27, 191,110 on December 28, and 191,218 on December 29.

PITX Senior Corporate Affairs Officer Kolyn Calbasa said overall foot traffic from December 19 to December 30 reached 2,370,506 passengers.

Authorities confiscated 543 items during the period, including 143 knives, 118 lighters, 78 cutter blades, 58 scissors, 46 cutters, 30 butane canisters, and 70 firecrackers.

As of 11 a.m. on Wednesday, an additional 58,820 passengers were recorded, raising the total holiday foot traffic to 2,429,326.

The terminal remains on high alert as it expects to accommodate a total of 3 million travelers by January 5, and continues to enforce safety measures for the peak season.
