The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) reported Thursday that it monitored 194,842 outbound passengers at ports nationwide on Christmas Eve.
The agency said its monitoring forms part of “Oplan Byaheng Ayos: Pasko 2025,” aimed at ensuring safe and orderly travel during the holiday season.
In the same period, the PCG recorded 194,456 inbound passengers arriving at ports across the country.
“Moreover, 16 PCG districts have inspected 1,514 vessels and 1,949 motorbancas,” the agency said in a Facebook post.
The PCG said it placed all districts, stations, and substations on heightened alert from Dec. 20, 2025 to Jan. 4, 2026 to manage the surge in passenger traffic.
Travelers were advised to coordinate with the PCG through its official Facebook page or the Coast Guard Public Affairs Service at 0927-560-7729 for questions and clarifications.
The agency also reminded the public to follow sea travel protocols and regulations during the festive season.
Authorities called on passengers to observe safety measures and cooperate with coast guard personnel to ensure smooth and secure port operations throughout the holidays.
