The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) is encouraging Filipinos to watch and support films featured in the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2025 starting Thursday, Christmas Day.
In a video message, MTRCB chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto called on the public to celebrate Filipino creativity by seeing the eight films included in this year’s festival.
Sotto urged parents and guardians to use MTRCB classification ratings as a guide in selecting movies appropriate for family viewing.
“Gamitin po natin bilang gabay ang MTRCB ratings sa pagpili ng papanooring pelikula ngayong kapaskuhan (Let us be guided by the MTRCB ratings in choosing the appropriate movie this season),” Sotto said.
“Sama-sama po tayong mag-enjoy sa walong pelikulang inihanda ng MMFF (Let us all enjoy the eight movies of the MMFF this year),” she added.
The 51st MMFF entries include “I’m Perfect,” rated G for general audiences, suitable for viewers of all ages.
Other entries rated PG include “Bar Boys: After School,” “Call Me Mother,” “Love You So Bad,” “Manila’s Finest,” “Rekonek,” and “Unmarry,” which require parental guidance for viewers aged 13 and below.
“Shake, Rattle and Roll: Evil Origins” is rated R-13 and is suitable for viewers aged 13 and above.
The MTRCB said the classification system aims to help audiences make informed choices and promote safe and enjoyable viewing experiences.
Sotto encouraged everyone to support the festival and take part in celebrating local cinema during the Christmas season.
