The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) joins the nation in celebrating Filipino golf ace Miguel Tabuena’s remarkable victory at the inaugural International Series Philippines, held from October 23 to 26 at the Sta. Elena Golf and Country Club in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

Tabuena, who grew up playing on the same course, delivered a masterclass performance—firing a stunning seven-under-par 65 in the final round to finish with a 24-under 264 total. His stellar play outpaced Japanese contenders Kazuki Higa (65) and Yosuke Asaji (67), who both ended three strokes behind at 21-under.

“It’s an incredible feeling to win an International Series event, especially here at home, at my home club, surrounded by family, friends, and supporters,” Tabuena said after sealing the win. His triumph earned him a $360,000 (around ₱21 million) purse and solidified his standing among Asia’s top professional golfers.

The International Series Philippines, a premier leg of the Asian Tour closely tied to the LIV Golf League, marks a major milestone for Philippine golf—underscoring the country’s growing relevance in the global circuit.

PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco extended his warm congratulations to Tabuena, commending his performance as a symbol of national excellence and Filipino pride. PAGCOR served as one of the major sponsors of the high-profile tournament.

“This victory is a proud moment not just for Miguel but for the entire country,” Tengco said. “PAGCOR remains steadfast in our mission to uplift Filipino athletes by supporting world-class sporting events. Investing in sports is investing in the nation—it inspires our people, strengthens tourism, and enhances our global reputation as a first-rate host for international competition.”

He further emphasized that PAGCOR’s support aligns with its broader goal of advancing sports tourism as a key driver of economic and community growth.

“Hosting elite tournaments like the International Series not only shines a spotlight on Filipino talent but also highlights the Philippines’ readiness to welcome global sports, attract visitors, boost local economies, and foster unity through national pride,” Tengco added.
