Gabbi Garcia is breaking new ground in her career as she joins British action star and martial artist Scott Adkins in the international film Prisoner of War, directed by Louis Mandylor.

The Kapuso actress recently gave fans a glimpse behind the scenes through a series of photos on Instagram, showing her on set as Theresa—a compassionate nurse caught in the chaos of World War II. One photo captures Garcia tending to Adkins’ injured character, while another shows her surrounded by the film’s war-torn set, revealing the intensity and grit of the production.

“It has been such an honor and a true thrill to work on this project alongside [Scott Adkins],” Garcia wrote, reflecting on the experience of being part of an international ensemble.

Premiering at the Beverly Hills Film Festival last April, Prisoner of War has steadily gained global attention for its emotional storytelling and gripping performances. The film follows a British officer who becomes a prisoner during the Japanese occupation, struggling to survive in a brutal war camp while holding onto hope and humanity.

The project, co-written by Adkins himself, marks one of Garcia’s biggest international collaborations to date. It highlights her growing versatility as an actress who has transitioned from local fantasy and drama roles—like Encantadia, Unbreak My Heart, and Slay—to a more grounded, cinematic portrayal rooted in historical realism.

Garcia first confirmed her involvement in the film last August after posting a candid on-set photo with Adkins. Since then, the actress has received praise from fans and peers alike for representing Filipino talent on the global stage.

Adkins, known for his high-octane performances in Undisputed, Ip Man 4: The Finale, and John Wick: Chapter 4, adds star power to the ensemble, while Mandylor’s direction promises a story that blends human drama with action and wartime tension.
