BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya – The provincial government of Nueva Vizcaya has turned over 15 dump trucks worth P45 million to selected barangays to improve public services, infrastructure maintenance and emergency response operations.

Governor Jose Gambito led the distribution of the six-wheel, four-wheel-drive dump trucks as part of the provincial government’s continuing program to strengthen the operational capabilities of its 275 barangays.

The recipients include Barangay Tukod in Kasibu; Bantinan, Malico and Sinapaoan in Santa Fe; Don Mariano Perez and District 4 in Bayombong; Banganan, Balite and Tucanon in Aritao; Abuyo in Alfonso Castañeda; Sawmill in Villaverde; Bitnong and Munguia in Dupax del Norte; Bugnay in Diadi; and Poblacion in Ambaguio.

Gambito said the provincial government also shouldered the three-year Land Transportation Office (LTO) registration, third-party liability insurance and comprehensive insurance for each vehicle.

“The units are also equipped with blinkers and public-address systems, GPS units with three-year subscriptions, and touchscreen stereo head units,” Gambito said.

The trucks are intended to support road maintenance, hauling, clearing operations, infrastructure projects and disaster response activities.

According to Gambito, providing barangays with their own heavy equipment will reduce their dependence on rented vehicles and outside assistance, allowing them to respond more efficiently to community needs.

Barangay Captain Samuel Agmallo of Sinapaoan, Santa Fe, welcomed the assistance, saying the equipment would help accelerate earthmoving operations and local infrastructure projects.

“This will be a big help to us because we can now do our work immediately when needed. Our response to situations requiring this truck will be faster and more effective for the good and welfare of our constituents,” Agmallo said.

The provincial government said the initiative is part of its broader efforts to improve local government service delivery and strengthen barangay preparedness during emergencies and natural disasters.
