NBI probes suspected troll farms in Zamboanga Sibugay POGO hubs

MANILA – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) is continuing its investigation into suspected troll farm operations linked to previously raided Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hubs in Zamboanga Sibugay.

In an update dated October 21, 2026, the NBI confirmed that authorities are looking into the possibility that the raided facilities were being used for organized online activities associated with troll farm operations.

The investigation seeks to determine whether the facilities housed digital operations beyond their alleged POGO-related activities.

An official image accompanying the announcement showed numerous mobile phones arranged on racks, highlighting electronic equipment potentially relevant to the ongoing investigation.

However, authorities have yet to establish publicly whether the devices were used for coordinated online manipulation, disinformation campaigns, or other illegal activities.

The NBI has not disclosed additional findings, including the identities of individuals who may have operated the suspected troll farm or the intended targets of any coordinated online activities.

The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to establish the nature and extent of the suspected operations.
