Members of K-pop sensation BTS, RM (Kim Nam-joon) and V (Kim Tae-hyung) have officially completed their mandatory military service on Tuesday, June 10.
Wearing military uniforms, the duo greeted fans and media at the Sinbuk-eup Sports Park soccer field in Yulmun-ri, Sinbuk-eup, Chuncheon, Gangwon Province.
RM played the saxophone as V held a bouquet of flowers, symbolizing their return to civilian life. Fans cheered as the two saluted and expressed their gratitude.
“To all ARMYs who have waited for us in the military, I want to say I am truly, truly grateful. Please wait just a little longer and we will return with a really cool performance,” V said.
Their return comes during the same week as BTS’ 12th debut anniversary, adding to the excitement among fans as the group moves closer to being reunited.
With RM and V now discharged, BTS is steadily approaching a full group reunion. Jungkook and Jimin are scheduled to complete their military service on Wednesday, June 11, while Suga is expected to follow on June 21.
Jin and J-Hope, the first members to complete their enlistment in 2023, have already returned to public activities, keeping fans engaged through solo projects and media appearances.
Entertainment company HYBE is currently preparing for BTS FESTA 2025, a fan event celebrating the band’s anniversary. While it remains unclear whether any members will appear, fans see this year’s FESTA, titled “Twelve O’Clock,” as a symbolic reset and a sign of what’s to come.
With more members completing their service in the coming days, BTS is expected to resume preparing for activities as a complete group, marking the beginning of a new phase in their global career.
