As floodwaters surged through Barangay San Jose on July 24, 2025, panic gave way to swift action. A damaged dike sent torrents of water sweeping through the community, forcing 50 residents to flee their homes. But help was not far behind.
Responding with urgency, personnel from the Northern NCR Maritime Police Station deployed a PNP Maritime Group rubber boat to navigate the inundated streets. One by one, residents were ferried to safety and brought to the nearest evacuation center—now a temporary haven as local authorities continue to assess the threat and extend relief.
Meanwhile, in Barangay Lungos, Calasiao, Pangasinan, seven terrified individuals clung to the roof of their home, surrounded by the swelling flood. Battling fierce currents and lashing rain fueled by the Southwest Monsoon, Typhoon Dante, and Typhoon Emong, the Regional Maritime Unit 1 launched a daring rescue.
Defying the odds, the rescue team pulled all seven to safety and brought them to dry land, where emotional reunions awaited in Barangays Nalcian and Sto. San Miguel. It was a powerful testament to the courage and commitment of the PNP Maritime Group—ordinary heroes risking it all to save lives when every second counted.
