Generally clear to partly cloudy conditions are expected across most parts of the country, with chances of isolated afternoon rain showers, the state weather bureau said Tuesday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said a ridge of a high pressure area continues to influence Northern and Central Luzon.
The weather agency said areas affected by this system are less likely to experience thunderstorm development.
Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley were forecast to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with minimal chances of rain.
Other parts of Luzon, along with Visayas and Mindanao, were still expected to experience isolated rain showers, particularly in the afternoon. Meanwhile, fair weather would generally persist, although thunderstorms may still develop later in the day.
The agency added that the current weather pattern is likely to continue over the next few days, though the influence of the high pressure ridge may gradually weaken.
Despite the relatively stable conditions, heat indices remained elevated. Recent data showed values reaching 38°C to 39°C in Metro Manila, while higher readings were recorded in some provinces.
Pagasa said areas such as Alabat in Quezon, San Jose in Occidental Mindoro, and Dumangas in Iloilo may experience heat indices up to 42°C or higher, posing risks of heat related illnesses, even as no tropical cyclone or low pressure area is being monitored.
