Much of the country continued to experience generally fair but warm conditions, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Wednesday.

Weather specialists reported that a ridge of a high-pressure area remained over Luzon, while easterlies affected Visayas and Mindanao.

These systems resulted in partly cloudy to cloudy skies across most regions, with chances of brief rain showers or thunderstorms later in the day.

Forecasters said hot and humid conditions prevailed nationwide, although isolated rains were still likely in several areas in the southern Philippines.

Some parts of Mindanao, including areas in the Zamboanga Peninsula and Soccsksargen, had already experienced short bursts of rain.

Temperatures remained elevated, with Metro Manila expected to reach around 35°C, while Tuguegarao could hit up to 36°C.

Other key cities such as Zamboanga and Davao were forecast to see highs ranging from 34°C to 35°C.

Heat index levels also stayed high, with some areas reaching dangerous levels above 40°C, even as no gale warning was raised over any of the country’s seaboards.
