The Panaad sa Negros Festival in Bacolod City included youth-focused activities this year through a new “Handurawan” platform.

The Negros Occidental provincial government said the festival ran from April 13 to 16 at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II attended the opening of the youth hub at the stadium lobby on Monday.

Organizers from the Negrosanon Young Leaders Institute Inc. said the space was set up as a designated area for youth participation during the festival.

The hub included areas for youth organizations, wellness support services, and booths for youth-led enterprises.

Officials said the initiative aimed to provide venues for cultural, creative, and civic activities for young participants.

Scheduled activities included competitions, traditional games, and advocacy discussions involving student and youth groups.

The youth program was set to culminate with a youth day activity at the Panaad Stadium grounds on April 18.
