The Department of Trade and Industry in Caraga Region (DTI-13) approved 20 new Shared Service Facilities (SSFs) in 2025 worth a total of Php208.4 million to support agriculture, fisheries, and micro, small, and medium enterprises across the region.
By the end of 2025, the agency had implemented over 200 SSFs. Of these, 36 were fully operational, 131 had transitioned into cooperatives, and 80 remained under maintenance.
The program has also contributed to job creation, with SSF-assisted enterprises generating around 1,102 jobs, the agency said.
One of the beneficiaries is the Mangagoy Farmers, Fisherfolk and Community Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MAFFISCO) in Bislig City, Surigao del Sur, which produces fresh-frozen and bottled tuna products.
MAFFISCO manager Rho Cougee Garrido said the cooperative has participated in the program since 2014 and has received two facilities under the initiative.
He added that the cooperative was provided with an ice crusher and cold storage facilities valued at over Php2 million to preserve their catch and process products efficiently.
Garrido noted that the cooperative’s products now reach markets beyond Surigao del Sur, and it continues to take part in trade fairs and marketing programs organized by DTI-13.
The agency also reported that 55 Negosyo Centers have been set up in the region, providing support to about 32,459 MSMEs.
