The Bureau of Immigration (BI) reported Wednesday that its operatives apprehended two foreign fugitives in separate operations in Davao City.
BI Fugitive Search Unit chief Rendel Ryan said American national David Michael Blunk, 41, and Korean national Ahn Min Hyuk, 48, were arrested on February 19.
Blunk’s arrest was conducted in coordination with U.S. authorities and the National Bureau of Investigation–South Eastern Mindanao Regional Office.
Blunk faces an outstanding warrant in California for violation of probation related to three counts of felony grand theft. The U.S. Department of State has revoked his passport.
Records indicate Blunk last entered the Philippines in 2023 with his Filipino spouse.
The Korean national was apprehended in coordination with the Philippine National Police–Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and Ma-a Police Station 16.
Ahn is the subject of an Interpol Red Notice issued after a warrant from the Incheon District Court for special robbery. He last entered the Philippines in 2019 and did not apply for a visa extension.
Both fugitives are being held at the BI warden facility and face deportation proceedings.
