The Department of Education (DepEd) has refuted circulating social media posts claiming the addition of a Grade 13 in senior high school starting School Year 2025–2026.
The agency clarified that the senior high school program under the K–12 curriculum still consists of only two grade levels—Grade 11 and Grade 12.
DepEd referred to a misleading Facebook post featuring a publication material that falsely announced the creation of Grade 13.
“Muling pinaaalalahanan ng DepEd ang publiko na mag-ingat at maging mapanuri laban sa misinformation. Para sa opisyal na mga anunsiyo at impormasyon tungkol sa basic education, bisitahin lamang ang official DepEd Philippines social media accounts,” the agency said.
