MANILA – Creamline swept Akari, 25-18, 25-21, 25-18, in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Season 10 at the SM Seaside Cebu Arena late Saturday.
Jessica Margaret Galanza led the Cool Smashers with 16 points on 11 attacks, three blocks and two service aces. She also had six digs and 14 excellent receptions.
“Sobrang sarap sa pakiramdam na lahat kami nag-contribute (It feels good that all of us contributed). This is what we train for, at sana magtuloy-tuloy ito (I hope this continues),” Galanza, a former Adamson University standout, said.
Jeannette Panaga and Michelle Gumabao added seven points each, with Panaga recording five blocks. Isabel de Leon and Rochelle Lalongisip contributed five points apiece, while Julia de Guzman tallied 16 excellent sets.
“Thankful ako sa PVL kasi hindi lang sa volleyball ako nag-grow through the years, pati na rin sa buhay. Maraming naitulong sa akin ang liga, pati sa family ko, at nakakatuwa dahil sa pamamagitan ng PVL, napapasaya namin ang fans (I’m grateful to the PVL because over the years, I’ve grown not only as a volleyball player but also as a person. The league has helped me and my family in many ways, and it’s heartwarming to know that through the PVL, we’re able to bring joy to the fans),” Galanza said when asked how the league had helped shape her over the years.
The Chargers threatened in the second and third sets, closing to 21-22 and 18-21, respectively, but Creamline held firm to finish the match in one hour and 27 minutes.
Ivy Lacsina paced Akari with 12 points, including 11 attacks and one block, while Mereophe Sharma added seven. (PNA)
