Palace says Marcos remains focused on public service despite SWS survey results

MANILA – Malacañang on Saturday maintained that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. remains focused on delivering government services despite the results of recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) surveys.

Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro said the President would continue performing his duties regardless of the findings of public opinion surveys.

“Kahit kailan, kahit ano pang survey firm, tumaas, bumaba, hindi naaapektuhan ang Pangulo, tuluy-tuloy ang pagtatrabaho. Hindi nagbabakasyon, nagtatrabaho,” Castro said in a statement shared on October 10, 2026.

Castro stressed that the administration remains committed to addressing the needs of Filipinos, regardless of fluctuations in the President’s public approval ratings.

She also pointed to the controversy involving Vice President Sara Duterte, saying the number of survey firms conducting polls should not distract the President from his responsibilities.

“So, very timely lang kasi ang paglabas nito dahil maraming issue na kinasasangkutan ngayon ang Bise Presidente. So, again, ang numero ng survey firms hindi po iyan makakaapekto sa pagtatrabaho ng Pangulo,” she added.

The Palace reiterated that Marcos would continue prioritizing public service and implementing government programs despite political controversies and changing public sentiment.

The statement did not specify the survey figures or the particular SWS findings being addressed.
