Cebu Cop relieved over ‘Bring Me’ drug game post

A police officer in Cebu province was relieved from duty after posting a controversial “Bring Me” game on social media, offering cash rewards for those who could bring drug users and pushers to the police.

Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño said the officer, assigned to an administrative unit in Talisay City, posted the video from his personal account, which has since been taken down.

In the video, the officer offered ₱2,000 for anyone who could bring a drug user and ₱5,000 for a street-level pusher.

“Ito po ay galing sa personal account nung pulis… ngayon po sa kautusan po ng ating Chief PNP, pinag-eexplain yung taong yun pati ang kanyang chief of police… bagamat pinatake down, ito po ay na-preserve na natin at magdire-diretso po yung kanilang digital investigation para kung ano po ang karadapat dapat na ikaso,” Tuaño said during a press briefing at Camp Crame.

Tuaño said the officer’s action was a clear violation of PNP operational procedures. He reminded all personnel to comply with content creation guidelines set by the Directorate for Police Community Relations (DPCR).

Meanwhile, PNP acting chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. reported that 184 erring police officers have been dismissed under his leadership.

“There is no place in the Bagong PNP for police officers who betray the badge. Our policy is firm — zero tolerance for corruption, abuse, or any act that undermines public trust. We will not hesitate to remove anyone who dishonors the uniform,” Nartatez said.

He added that the PNP continues to promote merit-based recognition, provide medical and welfare support, and maintain mission-ready units through strategic recruitment and asset management.
