PDEA Zamboanga Sibugay bust yields shabu worth P6.8M

Agents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in the Zamboanga Peninsula successfully apprehended a high-profile drug suspect on Sunday during a buy-bust operation in Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay. They confiscated about P6.8 million worth of suspected shabu, equivalent to approximately one kilogram packaged in ten heat-sealed sachets.  

The arrested individual, known by the alias “Boy Blue,” is a 46-year-old resident of Mahayag, Zamboanga del Sur. The operation, conducted at around 4:30 p.m. in Barangay Don Andres, was led by the PDEA Zamboanga Sibugay provincial unit with support from local police.  

In addition to the drugs, authorities also seized buy-bust money and other non-drug evidence. The suspect will face charges under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.  (PNA)
