Maya has introduced a new rebate program aimed at helping Filipino families in the Philippines who depend on remittances from relatives working in the Middle East, offering added support at a time when many households are closely managing their daily expenses.

Running from March 23 to April 10, 2026, the initiative gives eligible Maya users the chance to enjoy rebates on selected transactions after receiving remittances from certain Middle East countries. The program is designed to help families access their funds more conveniently while reducing some of the common costs that come with moving or withdrawing money.

Covered remittance corridors include Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Israel, Lebanon, and Jordan.

“With many overseas Filipinos in the Middle East supporting their families back home, we aim to make it easier for households to access and make the most of these remittances by reducing everyday transaction costs,” said Shailesh Baidwan, Maya Group President and Maya Bank Co-Founder.

The Middle East continues to be a major source of remittances for the Philippines. Based on Department of Foreign Affairs data, about 2.4 million Filipinos live and work in the region, while preliminary data from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas showed that remittances from the area reached more than $6.4 billion in 2025. With millions of households depending on these inflows, even small savings on transaction fees can make a meaningful difference.

Under the program, users who activate Maya XP can receive an P18 rebate for every eligible ATM withdrawal and a P15 rebate for each qualified InstaPay bank transfer. These benefits are intended to ease the cost of accessing remitted funds or sending them onward for household needs.

Eligible users may also receive cashback on mobile load purchases, with rewards ranging from 1 percent to 3 percent depending on their Maya XP level. This feature helps families stay in touch with loved ones abroad while making the most of their available funds.

To qualify, users must receive remittances in their Maya account from any of the covered Middle East countries. Once a qualifying remittance is credited, eligible users will typically receive an invitation to activate Maya XP within one to three days.

Users can activate Maya XP through the Maya app by heading to the Maya XP section in either the Wallet Dashboard or Profile page and completing the “Get started” process, which includes giving the necessary consent.

Once activated, rebates are applied automatically for eligible ATM withdrawals and InstaPay transfers, with cashback credited to the user’s Maya wallet on the same day the transaction is made.

Maya XP is an early-access feature that rewards users for engaging more actively with the platform’s services, including payments, savings, and fund transfers. As users build activity on the app, they can move through different levels and unlock additional perks.

Through this limited-time offer, Maya is positioning itself not just as a digital wallet or bank, but as a platform that responds to the financial realities of Filipino families. By lowering small but frequent costs tied to remittances, the company aims to help households preserve more of the money sent home by loved ones working overseas.
