Caraga region lowers alert status after tsunami warnings lifted

The Office of Civil Defense in Caraga, through the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC-13), has downgraded the region’s alert status from blue to white.

The decision came after the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) canceled all tsunami warnings following the recent Magnitude 7.4 and 6.8 earthquakes that hit Mindanao.

Caraga’s alert status was previously raised to blue as a precautionary measure.

“The situation in the regional level is manageable,” the RDRRMC-13 said in a Memorandum Circular issued Monday, noting that no significant damages or casualties have been reported.

Local disaster councils across provinces, cities, and municipalities were advised to continue monitoring their areas and submit regular situational updates to ensure preparedness for any future events.
