3 South Koreans nabbed for working illegally at Cavite Resort

Three South Korean nationals were arrested by the Bureau of Immigration (BI) for illegally working at a private resort in General Trias, Cavite.

In a press release on Saturday, the BI identified the individuals as Oh Hyunsik, 51; Kim Haeyoung, 48; and Kim Seoyeong, 45, who were apprehended Thursday at a resort inside a subdivision in the area.

The operation was conducted in coordination with the Philippine Navy and Philippine National Police, following a tip about undocumented foreign workers.

Surveillance confirmed that the three were working at the resort without proper permits and visas.

“They were actively employed at the resort without the necessary permits and working visas,” said BI Intelligence Division Chief Fortunato Manahan Jr.

The South Koreans are currently detained at the BI facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig, as they await deportation proceedings.
