Filipino and European public and private sectors now have a centralized platform to support the Philippines’ shift toward a green economy through the newly launched website http://www.greeneconomy.ph.
Launched under the 2023–2028 EU–Philippines Green Economy Partnership, the platform is co-funded by the European Union and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
According to the EU Delegation in Manila, the site will serve as a “centralized knowledge hub” offering access to policy updates, technical resources, case studies, and best practices on circular economy initiatives.
It also features matchmaking tools such as the Green Transition Lab, which shares circular economy technologies from Finland and beyond, and the Sustainability Solutions Exchange, connecting MSMEs with green buyers, suppliers, and service providers.
“Whether through knowledge-sharing webinars, collaborative workshops or peer-to-peer learning, the platform creates inclusive spaces where individuals and organizations can share insights, align on policy actions, and co-create solutions that drive the country’s green transition forward,” the EU said.
The PHP3.67-billion EU grant-funded partnership began in 2023 in coordination with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, aiming to advance the circular economy and reduce plastic waste in the Philippines.
