3 month probe yields results in flood control

Malacañang on Tuesday hailed the progress of the flood control investigation launched by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., saying significant results have been achieved within just three months.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro noted that the filing of cases and dismissal of officials linked to the scandal are notable accomplishments.

“Ngayon, three months palang marami nang nagawa nakaraang six years wala— maniwala tayo sa Pangulo (Three months into the probe, a lot has been achieved, compared to six years under the previous administration where there was none— let’s believe in the president),” she said.

Castro added that charges have been filed against over a dozen officials and contractors, with the Independent Commission for Infrastructure also eyeing cases against three senators and others connected to the issue.

“In just three months may i-a-auction pang mga sasakyan sa Nov. 20, marami nang na-freeze na assets, marami nang natanggal sa trabaho, in three months nagawa iyan (More cars will be auctioned, many assets had been frozen and many were sacked, these are all achieved within a span of three months),” she said.

The administration also launched a nationwide audit, opened the Sumbong sa Pangulo website for public reporting, and created the ICI on Sept. 11 to probe corruption in government flood control projects.
