2GO Travel AVP for F&B, Ancillary, and Hotel Operations Roland Sunga and 2GO Travel Head of Product Development and Senior Brand Manager George Clayton P. Narag accepted two TDM Travel Trade Excellence Awards in Singapore.
2GO Travel has secured two honors from the 2025 TDM Travel Trade Excellence Awards – Asia, drawing international attention to its efforts in workforce development and passenger experience in Philippine sea travel.
The company was named Community Engagement Programme of the Year – Philippines for its Enrolment to Employment (E2E) and Apprenticeship Programme, and Cruise Ship Entertainment of the Year – Philippines for its Travel Fun onboard activities.

The E2E and Apprenticeship Programme focuses on preparing young Filipinos for careers in hospitality, tourism, and maritime services through immersive, ship-based training. Participants live and work onboard 2GO vessels, where they apply classroom learning in real operating environments—handling passenger services, assisting in ship operations, and gaining firsthand exposure to life at sea.
By integrating trainees into daily vessel operations, the program allows students to experience both hospitality and ship management roles while receiving mentorship from seasoned crew members. In addition to technical training, participants undergo career coaching, resume-building workshops, and soft-skills development aligned with international employment standards, helping them transition more smoothly into the workforce.
George Narag, 2GO Travel’s head of product development, said the recognition reflects the company’s long-standing approach of embedding learning opportunities into its operations, noting that trainees consistently emerge from the program more confident and job-ready.
The Cruise Ship Entertainment award, meanwhile, highlighted Travel Fun, 2GO’s in-house entertainment program designed to enhance long-haul sea journeys. The initiative features live performances, interactive games, music, and themed activities conducted both onboard vessels and at passenger terminals. The program has become a regular fixture across the fleet and has been cited for its positive impact on passenger satisfaction.
Roland Sunga, 2GO Travel assistant vice president for food and beverage, ancillary, and hotel operations, said the recognition underscores the importance of creating engaging and enjoyable experiences for travelers, particularly on extended sea routes.
The twin awards place 2GO Travel among regional operators recognized for blending commercial operations with talent development and customer-focused initiatives, reinforcing its role in shaping the domestic sea travel experience while contributing to skills development in the tourism and maritime sectors.
