Staying true to the Palawan Group of Companies’ mission of advancing financial inclusion, PalawanPay, its fast-growing e-wallet platform, is taking another major step forward with the launch of the PalawanPay Virtual Visa Card. The new feature makes simple, secure, and widely accepted digital payments accessible to more Filipinos, including those without bank accounts or credit cards.

For PalawanPay, the goal is clear: remove long-standing barriers that have kept many Filipinos out of the digital economy. PalawanPay CEO Third Librea said owning a Visa card has long felt out of reach for many, often limited to those with formal banking relationships or established credit lines.

With the PalawanPay Virtual Visa Card, that perception is changing. Built to be simple, practical, and truly pang-masa, the card allows every Filipino and every suki to participate in global commerce with greater confidence, security, and affordability.

Activation is designed to be effortless. With just a few taps inside the PalawanPay app, verified users can instantly activate their Virtual Visa Card and begin transacting online. It can be used for everyday digital needs such as e-commerce shopping, recurring bills, travel bookings, and streaming subscriptions.

The experience removes the usual friction of lengthy forms, rigid requirements, and complicated processes, staying true to the Palawan Group’s walang kuskos-balungos promise of convenience and ease.

Palawan Group Chief Marketing Officer Bernard Kaibigan emphasized that the Virtual Visa Card is more than just a new feature. It represents a meaningful step toward a more inclusive digital economy. The objective, he said, is to make digital finance genuinely para sa lahat, practical and within reach of every suki, regardless of financial background.

At its core, the PalawanPay Virtual Visa Card empowers unbanked and underbanked Filipinos to take part confidently in the digital economy. Designed with suki-centered simplicity, it supports payments for major online shopping platforms such as Shopee and Lazada, travel bookings and digital wallets, subscription services, and secure money transfers powered by Visa Direct. This opens doors to digital transactions that were once difficult or inaccessible for many users.

Because PalawanPay is deeply rooted in the everyday realities of Filipinos, the platform also enables users to receive remittances from abroad directly into the app. Sukis can conveniently cash in for free at more than 3,500 Palawan Express branches nationwide, ensuring broad access to funds without additional cost. The combination of digital convenience and a strong physical branch network ensures that users can move seamlessly between cash and cashless transactions.

Designed with zero intimidation and zero complications, the PalawanPay Virtual Visa Card aligns with the real spending habits of today’s digital Pinoy. It reflects a practical understanding of how Filipinos shop, pay, and support their families, both locally and globally.

Looking ahead, PalawanPay is set to expand this offering even further. By 2026, the company plans to launch a physical PalawanPay Visa Card, giving users added flexibility for in-store and point-of-sale payments worldwide, and reinforcing PalawanPay’s commitment to making modern financial tools accessible to every Filipino.
