Zoom Communications, Inc. unveiled AI Companion 3.0 at Zoomtopia 2025, its flagship annual conference, marking a major leap in productivity, collaboration, and intelligent workplace solutions. The latest release brings powerful agentic AI innovations to Zoom Workplace and Zoom Business Services, designed to transform conversations into actions and help users perform at their best every day.

Yuan, Zoom founder and CEO. “With AI Companion 3.0, we’re going beyond assistance—our agentic AI understands context, priorities, and goals so users can cut through the noise, stay focused, and deliver stronger outcomes.”
A smarter companion for work
AI Companion 3.0 is built as an intelligent, seamless layer across Zoom and integrated third-party apps. It not only automates tasks but also synthesizes information from meetings, chats, shared documents, and external sources like market research to deliver relevant insights when they matter most.
Highlights include:
- Smarter insights: Unified, context-aware search blends internal enterprise knowledge with external data to provide comprehensive answers.
- Expanded note-taking: Available for paid Zoom Workplace accounts, AI-powered notes now extend beyond Zoom to in-person meetings and other platforms such as Teams, Google Meet, and WebEx.
- Workday optimization: New proactive skills like “free up my time,” meeting prep, group assistance, and in-meeting recommendations help streamline daily workflows.
- Higher-quality output: With contextual awareness of conversations and projects, AI Companion offers tailored prompts, suggested actions, and writing assistance to help users deliver polished results faster.
A new adaptive “work surface” in web browsers and the Zoom Workplace desktop app consolidates context into one hub, turning scattered information into actionable intelligence.
Next-level AI features
Zoom is also rolling out advanced platform updates, including lifelike meeting avatars, auto-generated presentation clips, and support for Model Context Protocol (MCP) to give developers more flexibility in building AI tools. Real-time voice translation in Zoom Meetings now delivers greater accuracy than competitors, with independent testing showing a 28% improvement for English-to-French and 14% for English-to-Spanish translations.
For organizations with specialized needs, Custom AI Companion lets admins design and deploy tailored AI agents using a low-code builder, rich tooling library, and pre-built templates. Available immediately as an add-on for $12 per user, per month, it also supports Agent2Agent (A2A) connections for cross-application workflows.
AI Companion 3.0 capabilities will begin rolling out in November 2025 at no extra cost for paid Zoom Workplace users.
Business services reimagined
Zoom also extended agentic AI to its customer and employee experience offerings. New Customer Experience (CX) innovations include:
- Agentic AI Expert Assist to automate support tasks.
- CX Insights for uncovering trends and business intelligence.
- Automated Quality Management to monitor both live and virtual agent interactions.
- Bring-your-own-voice functionality in Zoom Virtual Agent (ZVA) for consistent, on-brand customer engagement.
In sales, the enhanced Zoom Revenue Accelerator (ZRA) uses AI-driven prospecting to scan event lists and lead sources, identify high-value prospects, and initiate personalized outreach across email, SMS, and scheduling platforms.
