Households in Metro Manila and nearby provinces will face higher water bills starting January 2026 as Manila Water Company Inc. and Maynilad Water Services Inc. implement new tariff increases, according to the Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS).
The MWSS said Manila Water’s all-in tariff per cubic meter will climb by P7.18 to P67.98 for unsewered customers and by P8.39 to P85.06 for sewered customers in the first quarter of 2026.
These adjustments will translate to monthly bill increases ranging from P4.24 to as much as P135.22, depending on household water consumption.
Manila Water serves the East Zone, covering cities such as Makati, Mandaluyong, Pasig, Taguig, Marikina, and most parts of Quezon City, as well as several towns and cities in Rizal province.
Maynilad, meanwhile, will raise its all-in tariff by P1.85 to P67.61 for unsewered customers and by P2.15 to P78.46 for sewered customers.
The higher Maynilad rates will result in monthly bill increases ranging from P1.02 to P39.04, depending on water usage.
Maynilad’s West Zone service area includes Caloocan, Las Piñas, Makati, Malabon, Manila, Muntinlupa, Navotas, Parañaque, Pasay, Quezon City, and Valenzuela.
The concessionaire also supplies water to parts of Cavite, including Bacoor, Cavite City, Imus, Kawit, Noveleta, and Rosario.
MWSS said the new tariffs form part of the scheduled adjustments allowed under the concession agreements with the two private water firms.
The increases come as consumers continue to grapple with rising utility costs amid broader inflationary pressures.
