The Philippine National Police (PNP) tapped vlogger and fitness coach Rendon Labador to lead a 93-day fitness program for police officers, which started on Thursday at Camp Crame.

The program is an initiative of the Police Community Affairs and Development Group (PCADG), following PNP Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III’s directive on physical fitness standards for police officers.

Labador, whose father is a retired police officer, said that he was invited by PCADG director Brig. Gen. Marvin Joe Saro and volunteered to the collaboration for free.

According to the fitness coach, he would conduct a 93-day motivated functional workout and nutrition program for police officers that is not the usual Zumba and Tae Bo routines.

“Tawagin niyo akong ‘Pambansang Coach ng Kapulisan. Ginagawa ko po ito nang libre. Nagpresinta po ako para tumulong,” he told the reporters.

(Call me the ‘National Coach of the Police.’ I’m doing this for free. I volunteered to help.)

He said they would do it together, simultaneously, with the same routines, and they would monitor the results. He added that he would help the police officers lose weight, and the first step would be to reduce their belly fat by decreasing rice intake.

There were at least 150 police officers who initially signed up for the said program.

“My message to all policemen is for them to take this seriously because you will be dismissed from the service if you fail to do it,” said Labador in Filipino.
