A top wanted person accused of human trafficking was arrested in Iloilo province on February 10, 2026, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported Wednesday.

Police identified the suspect as a 43-year-old businessman from Iloilo who was apprehended in a joint operation by the Badiangan and Dumangas municipal police stations and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s intelligence unit.

Authorities said the arrest was carried out based on a warrant issued by a Regional Trial Court branch in Dumangas, Iloilo, with no bail recommended.

The suspect faces three counts of violating the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act, as amended, which covers offenses related to the exploitation and abuse of individuals.

PNP chief Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the arrest underscored the police force’s commitment to pursuing individuals involved in serious crimes under its focused public safety agenda.

He added that the police would continue to rely on intelligence-driven operations and public cooperation to hold offenders accountable and deter trafficking activities.

The suspect is currently under the custody of the Badiangan police for proper legal proceedings.
