SSS now accepting applications for MySSS Card

The Social Security System (SSS) has officially started accepting applications for the MySSS Card, a new identification card that also works as a debit card.

SSS President and CEO Robert Joseph Montes De Claro said the MySSS Card, launched on September 8, will replace the Unified Multi-Purpose ID (UMID) and provide members with a safe and convenient way to access benefits and loans while managing daily financial transactions.

The card comes with an EMV chip and is integrated with the PhilSys eVerify system and biometric authentication. It can also be used for shopping, transport fares, and online purchases.

“Once members apply for the MySSS Card, we will link their partner bank savings accounts to SSS for benefits, loans, and other proceeds. They no longer need to enroll the MySSS Card in the Disbursement Account Enrollment Module (DAEM),” De Claro said.

The card will be issued through SSS partner banks, starting with RCBC via its digital arm, DiskarTech. Other banks such as Asia United Bank, China Bank, and Union Bank will follow.

De Claro emphasized: “The SSS and RCBC partnership marks a significant milestone in the digital transformation of government services. The MySSS Card’s rollout will expand as more partner banks join the program.”

The MySSS Card is available to all members, pensioners, beneficiaries, and representative payees with a permanent SSS number, an active My.SSS Portal account, and registration with the National ID system.

Applications can be made through the My.SSS Portal, with account opening facilitated by the chosen partner bank. Delivery of the card will take 15 working days in Metro Manila and 20 days outside the capital.
