The Social Security System (SSS) has rolled out its latest innovation — the MySSS Card, a modern replacement for the old Unified Multi-Purpose ID (UMID) card. Equipped with an EMV chip, the new card doubles as both a valid ID and a debit card linked to a savings account, making transactions faster, safer, and more convenient for members.
Registered under the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) with eVerify and biometric authentication, the MySSS Card ensures secure verification for all users — including members, pensioners, beneficiaries, and claimants.
To apply for the MySSS Card, members must:
Have an active account on the official My.SSS Portal.
Provide updated personal details such as address, mobile number, and email.
Make sure their account is registered with the National ID system.
Visit the nearest RCBC branch, the first partner bank to release the EMV-powered card, or download the RCBC Diskartech app for online application.
Soon, AUB, China Bank, and Union Bank will also issue the MySSS Card. Delivery of the physical card takes around 15 working days within Metro Manila and 20 days for non-NCR areas.
Existing SSS or UMID cardholders may also apply for the MySSS Card to replace lost or outdated cards.
SSS President and CEO Robert Joseph Montes De Claro highlighted that the card will serve as the main disbursement account for all SSS transactions.
“Once members apply for the MySSS Card, we will link their partner bank savings accounts to SSS for benefits, loans, and other proceeds. They no longer need to enroll the MySSS Card in the Disbursement Account Enrollment Module (DAEM),” De Claro said.
He also described the partnership with RCBC as a major step toward digital transformation in government services, providing members with seamless access to social security benefits.
Beyond SSS transactions, the MySSS Card can also be used for shopping, paying transport fares, and making online purchases, making it an all-in-one financial and identification tool for modern Filipinos.
