IKEA has officially opened its newest branch at Trinoma Mall in Quezon City — marking its second location in the Philippines and the first Plan & Order shop in the north.
Unlike the massive Pasay City flagship, which holds the title of the world’s largest IKEA store, the Trinoma branch offers a more intimate experience. Spanning just 400 square meters, it focuses on helping customers design, plan, and order their dream interiors with the help of in-store design specialists. Shoppers can still purchase small home essentials on-site, while larger furniture pieces can be ordered for pickup. The store also operates on a completely cashless system for a smoother experience.
“This shop focuses on the items that truly make a home — pots, pans, glassware, and organizers — the very things we often see in the blue bags of our customers,” said IKEA Philippines Country Retail Manager Ricardo Pinheiro.
Pinheiro anticipates a surge of visitors this holiday season, expecting to double last year’s numbers. “We’ll easily surpass the half-million mark and reach a million visitors between November and January,” he shared confidently.
The store opening drew a lively crowd of eager customers lining up early at Trinoma’s north wing, excited to explore the new concept.
For Ayala Malls, the partnership signals more than a business expansion. “IKEA’s arrival at Trinoma is more than retail — it’s a shared mission to elevate everyday living,” said Ayala Malls Senior Vice President for Leasing and Hospitality, Mariana Zobel de Ayala.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte also expressed pride in the city’s growing business landscape, welcoming IKEA as a new partner in local development. “I’ve been an IKEA fan since college,” she said with a smile. “I can predict the future — a warehouse here in Quezon City very soon! And when that happens, we’ll be your biggest supporters.”
IKEA has yet to confirm the next store location, but hinted that another major branch — alongside more Plan & Order studios — is on the horizon, signaling that the brand’s vision for Filipino homes is just getting started.
