Television host Kuya Kim Atienza took to Instagram to share a touching clip of his late daughter Emman Atienza, taken from her interview on Toni Gonzaga’s vlog published in November 2024.
In the clip, the 19-year-old Sparkle artist talked about the meaning behind her tattoo — a butterfly with a music note, inspired by the words of German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche.
“It’s a butterfly with a music note, and it’s inspired by Friedrich Nietzsche, and his quote [goes], ‘And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who couldn’t hear the music,’” Emman said in the vlog.
“This tattoo is just a reminder that I have the freedom to dance to the music I hear, regardless of whether people can hear it too,” she added.
In his caption, Kuya Kim quoted Nietzsche’s words and echoed his family’s call for “just a little kindness” in the wake of Emman’s passing — a message that continues to resonate deeply with their followers.
Emman’s mother, Felicia Atienza, also shared a heartfelt post online, reminding everyone of the importance of compassion and choosing kindness.
Just a day after announcing her passing on October 24, Kuya Kim posted a video of Emman singing in a recording studio — a bittersweet tribute that showcased her love for music.
In her final Instagram post on September 1, Emman spoke about the pressures of social media and her decision to take a step back from TikTok, a message that now stands as a poignant reflection of her honesty and strength.
