SMC opens Skyway 3 Maria Clara exit

San Miguel Corporation (SMC) on Saturday opened the Maria Clara northbound exit at Skyway Stage 3 in Quezon City, aiming to ease traffic at the Quezon Avenue exit.

The new exit, operational as of 6:00 a.m. on December 28, provides an alternative route for motorists heading into Quezon City, SMC said in a statement. The timing aligns with the anticipated surge in holiday travel during the New Year’s long weekend.

“We’re opening the Maria Clara exit just in time for the last long weekend of the year, when many of our countrymen are traveling for New Year’s celebrations,” said SMC chairman and CEO Ramon Ang.

“This exit has been long-awaited by our motorists in Quezon City, who now have a convenient alternative,”, he added.

Ang noted that the new exit will charge the same toll rate as the Quezon Avenue northbound exit, with no additional fees.

The Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) issued an interim permit on December 27, allowing the exit’s opening after SMC fulfilled key requirements.

“We are grateful to the Toll Regulatory Board for their support and close coordination with our operations team to open the Maria Clara exit for the benefit of the motoring public,” said Ang.

SMC assured motorists that its team is finalizing remaining TRB requirements while deploying patrollers and road safety personnel to guide drivers at the new exit.

Skyway Stage 3 connects Makati City’s Gil Puyat Avenue to Balintawak, Quezon City, where it links with the North Luzon Expressway.
