Fresh from another championship run, the San Miguel Beermen showed that their winning ways go far beyond the hardwood, stepping up to support the DSWD’s Walang Gutom Kitchen in Pasay City.
In a meaningful community outreach held Tuesday, members of the reigning PBA Philippine Cup champions personally visited the feeding site to distribute packed meals and share goodies such as shirts and caps with beneficiaries.
Leading the effort was nine-time PBA Most Valuable Player June Mar Fajardo, joined by head coach Leo Austria, team governor Robert Non, and team manager Gee Abanilla. PBA commissioner Willie Marcial also took part in the activity, which was presented by ArenaSocial.
Walang Gutom Kitchen, a community-based food bank first launched in 2024 by DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, seeks to provide free, nutritious meals to homeless individuals and other vulnerable members of the community.
The outreach formed part of San Miguel’s celebration of its 31st PBA championship, which the franchise captured in the season-opening All-Filipino Conference. In partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the initiative underscored the team’s commitment to making an impact not only in the league, but also in the lives of Filipinos in need.
For the Beermen, it was another perfect assist—this time delivered where it mattered most.
