BAGUIO CITY — Some of the country’s leading golfing firms and corporate teams are set to battle for bragging rights as the 28th Philippine Corporate Cup gets underway on Wednesday, March 18, at the par-69 John Hay Golf Course here.
A total of 61 teams will compete in the 54-hole tournament, which once again brings together the business community and golf enthusiasts in one of the country’s premier corporate sporting events. The tournament is presented by the Philippine Sports Commission, with support from Landco, John Hotels, Smart, Golfplus, and DuckWorld.
Competition will be staged across multiple handicap divisions for both seniors and regular players. The Seniors category will feature Division 1 (handicap 7-11), Division 2 (12-14), and Division 3 (16-20), while the Regular division is split into Division 1 (4-9), Division 2 (10-13), Division 3 (14-15), and Division 4 (16-22).
Kicking off the opening day’s action are teams from Regular Divisions 2, 3, and 4, along with Seniors Division 2, setting the tone for what is expected to be a fiercely contested yet friendly tournament.
Beyond precision shot-making, players will also need to contend with the cool Baguio climate, which could play a major role in testing both focus and adaptability on the course.
Adding to the excitement is the use of the Molave Points System, which rewards aggressive and strategic play. Under the format, a double eagle earns seven points, a hole-in-one six, eagle five, birdie four, par three, bogey two, and double bogey one.
With top corporate squads, a demanding mountain layout, and unpredictable weather in the mix, the 28th Philippine Corporate Cup promises another compelling showcase of skill, strategy, and competitive spirit at John Hay.
