Shabu worth P2.4M seized in Calabarzon busts, 4 arrested

LUCENA CITY — Police arrested four alleged high-value drug traffickers and seized over P2.4 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) along with an illegal firearm in a series of buy-bust operations across the Calabarzon region on Sunday.

The Police Regional Office 4A (PRO-4A) reported Monday that the operations spanned the provinces of Rizal, Batangas, and Laguna.
In Cainta, Rizal, anti-narcotics operatives apprehended two suspects, identified by the aliases “Tres” and “Burnok,” at around 7:20 p.m. in Barangay Sto. Domingo. The arrests followed a successful sting where the pair allegedly sold P500 worth of shabu to an undercover officer.

Authorities recovered 200 grams of suspected shabu from the suspects, valued at approximately P1.36 million. Additionally, police seized an undocumented .22-caliber revolver loaded with four rounds of ammunition.

At the same hour in San Juan, Batangas, police arrested a suspect identified as “Mark” in Barangay Sampiro. Operatives confiscated 91.2 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P620,160.

A third operation took place in Cabuyao City, Laguna, at 10:20 p.m., resulting in the arrest of a suspect known as “Henry” in Barangay Banay-Banay. Police seized 70 grams of shabu worth about P476,000 and a motorcycle believed to have been used in his illegal
activities.

According to PRO-4A, all four suspects are classified as high-value individuals (HVIs), a category reserved for major traffickers, financiers, or members of drug syndicates.

The suspects are currently in police custody and face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Additional charges for illegal possession of firearms are also being prepared against the suspects.
