Schneider Electric reported a Schneider Sustainability Impact (SSI) score of 7.95 out of 10 for the first quarter of 2025—well on track to meet its year-end goal of 8.80.
Recently named the world’s most sustainable corporation by Corporate Knights, Schneider continues to make meaningful progress in its final year of the current SSI program. In addition to its Q1 update, the company also released its sustainability performance for Q4 2024, revealing a year-end SSI score of 7.55—surpassing its 2024 target of 7.40.
The SSI framework, aligned with Schneider’s business strategy, tracks progress across 11 global ESG commitments, scored on a 10-point scale (with 2020 as the baseline year, rated at 3/10). Performance is measured quarterly, with independent external audits conducted annually. In 2024, SSI metric #8 received “reasonable” assurance.
“In 2024, we were recognized by both TIME and Statista as the World’s Most Sustainable Company and again topped Corporate Knights’ Global 100 list—an honor no other company has achieved twice,” said Chris Leong, Chief Sustainability Officer at Schneider Electric. “These accolades fuel our drive to deliver even greater impact in 2025, the final year of our current sustainability journey.”
Among Schneider’s Q1 2025 highlights:
- Its solutions helped customers save or avoid nearly 700 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
- Since 2018, it has enabled a total of 679 million tonnes in avoided emissions.
- Its top 1,000 suppliers achieved a 42% emissions reduction through energy efficiency and renewable energy initiatives.

Through its Youth Education & Entrepreneurship initiative, Schneider is preparing young people for sustainable careers by equipping them with essential skills.
The company also continues to earn top ESG ratings: it was listed in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index for the 14th consecutive year, placed on CDP’s A List, earned a AAA rating from MSCI ESG, and received a Platinum medal from EcoVadis.
“At Schneider, we know that real progress comes through collaboration—with governments, communities, and our global network of partners,” added Leong. “I’m proud of our teams who are translating ambition into action, creating solutions with environmental impact, and uplifting communities around the world.”
